Godawan Artisanal Single Malt Receives Global Recognition

Godawan Artisanal Single Malt Whisky by Diageo India has earned one Master and two Gold medals at the World Whisky Masters 2026, reinforcing the growing recognition of Indian single malts on the international stage. In the India – Single Malt category, Godawan 01 Rich & Rounded received the competition's highest honour, the Master medal, while Godawan 02 Fruit & Spice and Godawan 173 were awarded Gold medals. The competition uses a blind-tasting process, with an independent panel of spirits experts evaluating the whiskies based on the quality of the liquid rather than brand name, reputation or packaging. The recognition highlights Godawan's focus on craftsmanship, distinctive Indian character and premium positioning, while also strengthening the global image of Indian whisky.

Marketing perspective: The achievement demonstrates how product quality, premium positioning, Indian provenance and international recognition can be used to build a distinctive luxury brand. Godawan's broader brand story is closely associated with Rajasthan, artisanal craftsmanship and sustainability, helping it differentiate itself in the premium single-malt category.
